One notable feature is the reduction of cellular expenses through minimized air-time minutes and roaming charges. Calls can be made and received over Wi-Fi networks—including home, hotspot, or corporate Wi-Fi—contributing to overall cost efficiency.

The application’s call swipe gesture enables users to effortlessly transfer ongoing calls between their mobile device and desktop systems, as well as switch between cellular networks and Wi-Fi, supporting uninterrupted communication workflows.

OpenScape Mobile operates in three distinct modes, depending on the purchased license:

• UC-only mode:
  • Provides access to OpenScape Unified Communications features, including presence status management and device preferences.
  • Allows a single published phone number for calls.
  • Displays contact presence information within the organization.
  • Enables contact management and communication via the corporate network.
  • Supports ad-hoc conferencing, conference joining, and status monitoring.
  • Includes rule activation and configuration of time zone, location, and status notes.
  • Displays missed calls in the call journal.
  • Supports automatic credential importation from the OpenScape mobile client if configured.
• Voice/Video-only mode:
  • Grants access to VoIP and Video functionalities along with call transfer, forwarding, and swipe features.
• Combined mode:
  • Integrates both UC and VoIP/Video features into a unified mobile application for comprehensive communication management.
